As Christmas approaches Branson turns into a winter wonderland with numerous events, festivals and a blanket of holiday decorations. Cheer and goodwill is definitely in the air as the town gears up for its 22nd Annual Ozark Mountain Christmas. The miles of lights extending out of the heart of Branson acts as a warm beacon to travelers across the nation. Once here visitors will find decorations glowing from nearly every shop door while enjoying friendly smiles on every street. Branson is truly a magical place to be during the Christmas season.

BransonMissouri has been recognized as one of the best Christmas destinations by NBCs Today Show as “Best Holiday Travel Deal”. Branson has also been recognized by USA Today, the A&E Network and The Wall Street Journal as an outstanding holiday vacation destination. That's just to name a few. The Branson chamber of commerce estimated that in 2008 Branson Missouri received 8.04 million visitors, and on a 1 to 5 rating scale, visitor satisfaction measures a 4.62.

Silver Dollar City’s Old Time Christmas is entertaining visitors with a medley of entertainment and decorations. Silver Dollar City offers an authentic view of the history and culture of the Ozarks and An Old Time Christmas is certainly no exception in terms of representing the hustle and bustle of Ozark life as we approach the holiday season. This event runs through December 30th so there is still plenty of time to experience the delight and beauty of Christmas in the Ozarks. The Gifts of Christmas Holiday Lights Parade, live presentations of A Dickens Christmas Carol and a five-story Christmas tree are just a few of the special additions in store, with millions of Christmas lights covering the park with a picturesque glow.

One of the newer attractions in the Ozarks debuted last year but has already become an annual tradition for many families returning to Branson. White Flight is appearing for a limited engagement at the butterfly palace. Thousands of beautiful snow white butterflies will be appearing at the palace. The palace will also be featuring living angel statues and a myriad of beautiful poinsettias all in a breathtaking rainforest setting.

There are many other wonderful Christmas events happening throughout Branson this season. I encourage anyone who loves the feeling of family and togetherness that this season brings to check out all the events that Ozark Mountain Christmas has to offer. Make the miracle of Christmas happen for you and your family and visit Branson Missouri during this magical time of year.
